Hello Friends
Being full of fear stops us from walking in the victorious life that God desires for us to have. The dictionary defines fear as – “an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger” ; ”anxious concern” ; “profound reverence and awe especially toward God” and “reason for alarm”. Merriam-Webster – fear
I have learned that my feelings are fickle – they are in constant change and like a boat on the ocean, they come and go with the waves. We tend to feel a vast assortment of feelings everyday. Some of the feelings we are well aware of and some we don’t even realize are there. There are feelings that are more pleasant to sit in and there are some that not only make us uncomfortable, they also have a tendency to immobilize us. When our feelings start to immobilize us we end up getting stuck in those feelings. This then prevents us from living in the fullness of life that God has for us.
Getting Unstuck
Have you ever been full of fear? Has fear held you back from moving forward in your life? Has the fear held you captive and as a result you limit yourself to the opportunities that come your way?
There are so many different types of fears. We can fear people, places, animals and things. Some of us fear failure and some us fear success. We can also fear both fear and success simultaneously. Living in fear is exhausting and we tend to lose all hope.
There comes a time in our lives that we have to make a choice to work through our emotion of fear or risk never moving forward in our lives. Often times when we are full of fear it is a result of past memories, lies other people have told us that we then believe and our own insecurities. Another explanation of living full of fear is believing the lies of the enemy.
The Bible calls Satan our enemy. It also calls him a thief. God gives us the following encouragement in His Word:
”The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” John 10:10 ~ Amp
What does being full of fear look like?
Living full of fear doesn’t always mean that you are scared of something that you can actually see like people or physical circumstances in your life. Often living in fear is a state of our mind that controls all aspects of our lives and hinders us from moving forward.
What Does God Say About Feeling Fear?

And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?” – NLT

Prayer
I want to encourage you to end your scripture reading time with prayer. If you would like some guidance in this I have left you the following prayer:
Father God,
Thank you for Your Word and the truth that is in it. It has encouraged, edified and challenged me. Your Word propels me to grow and it leads me to a more victorious life when I take heed to it. There are so many times that I have allowed fear to immobilize me. I ask for Your forgiveness in not trusting You.
Please place Your Word deep within my heart and help me to go to it when I find myself full of fear. I know that fear does not come from You and that it is Your perfect love that casts out all fear. Today I surrender all the fears that I have been holding on to and I lay them at the cross. In return I pick up Your Word and thus enrich my faith. Help me Lord to not stumble and fall. Help me to do things afraid as I know that You are always with me. —- In Jesus’ name ~~~ Amen
Keep Pressing Forward
Surrendering our fear to God is not always easy, especially if we have been full of fear for a long time. Learning to let go of our fear and do things afraid is challenging. It is often a process and doesn’t always happen overnight. I want to encourage you to keep seeking God and connecting to Him. This connection with Him will help build up your faith and dissipate your fear.
Remember that He loves you and in His love is grace, mercy and protection.
My prayer for you: Lord, I ask that you keep your daughter/son as the apple of Your eye; Hide her/him under the shadow of Your wings ~ Amen (Psalm 17:8)
