Hello friend

There was a time in my life that I struggled with asking for and receiving help from others. Truthfully, I still from time to time catch myself in this pattern of behavior. God graciously will give me a shake and remind me that I am not an island to myself. He lets me know that by not asking for help and rejecting the help that is offered me I am indulging my pride.
We were never meant to walk this journey of life alone. Not only does He bring people into our lives to journey with us, He walks with us. “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.” ~ Psalm 145:18 (NKJV)
Believing Lies
Too often I have neglected to acknowledge God and have ceased to see that He is in every aspect of my life. I have bought into the lies that I am not good enough, smart enough and capable enough. There have been many times that I have felt overwhelmed by all that was in front of me to either accomplish or get through. I doubted myself and I also doubted God.
Some days I still wonder how I am going to do all that is in front of me to do. It is so easy to get caught up in doubt, unbelief and having a lack of confidence. Can you relate?
Have you ever been overwhelmed by the journey you are on in your life? Do you doubt yourself and are you doubting God? Are you trying to accomplish “life” on your own?
Not Alone
Whatever God has called you to accomplish in your life, He has not called you to accomplish alone. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”. ~ Joshua 1:9 (NKJV).
He is always there with you, hoping that you will lean on Him and let Him help you. He is providing you with the resources you need to get the job done – if only you don’t let your pride get in the way.
Call On Him When You Are Alone
This doesn’t mean you won’t stumble along the way or encounter difficulties. It doesn’t mean that you will never walk through any valleys or battle through any storms. What it does mean is that you can call upon Him and ask Him for His help. Whether you need wisdom, inspiration, confidence, strength, direction or just plain tenacity, you will find your answer in Him. Stop looking for your needs to be met through anything other than God. ”Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.” ~ Philippians 4:6 (AMPC)
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for Your Word that You have given to encourage and to help lead me on my life’s journey. There have been too many times that I have ventured down the paths in my life feeling alone. Too often I have isolated myself from others and tried to do everything that was in front of me neglecting to receive the help from You and from others. Please forgive me for my pride and self-will.
I pray that You will help me to look to You not only in my times of need but in all times. May You lead and guide me in every step that I am to take on my life’s journey. I ask that You give me wisdom, inspiration, confidence, strength, direction and tenacity to continue to press forward. Help me to always remember that I am not alone and that You will equip me with everything that I stand in need of in order to accomplish all that You have set before me. I am grateful that I no longer have to believe the lies that I am not good enough, smart enough and capable enough. I stand on Your promise that I can do all things through You (Christ) who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13). In Jesus’ Name ~ Amen
